Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Minnesota Vikings’ stellar running back Dalvin Cook won’t report without a deal. In a late fashion among running backs, Cook is willing to hold out as long as it’s necessary to land a contract that matches his expectations.

Emulating Leveon Bell’s decision to sit for an entire season before leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cook is looking forward to securing a new contract with the Vikings that is reasonable to his best interest. Obviously, this is terrible news for fantasy owners who expected Cook to be a top scorer. However, there’s plenty of time before the season starts, and everyone is trying to keep the optimism. Cook is expected to land one of the juiciest contracts for a running back, probably just behind McCaffrey’s recent extension.
His fantasy value will drop dramatically in the event he decides to hold out once the season starts.
